This year´s 12th International Pop Music Festival "Bihac 2006" is literally one of the most powerful links in the chain of festivals organized in the past ten years. Its international character and characteristics that came with it through all these years confirm well known facts of its cultural and artistic value, international and contemporary character and involvement into music trends of the region of EX YU and EUROPE.

The festival has been established in hard circumstances that were present in the city Bihac and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but its very beginning and development appeared as a non-iterative value in which participated people with good will and friends who felt the mission to create a music project which would bring together musicians of whole region.
In 1995 the idea of the festival was developed by Elmir Rekic and he imagined the festival as a long-term licensed project, hence, in the same year it was held for the first time as the festival of pop music where 48 authors and performers participated in.
 

In the following years, especially in 1997, whole Bosnia and Herzegovina watched the Festival via national TV broadcast on the terrestrial network and whole Europe and the world via satellite and the ideological value of the festival was submitted and the successful work from recent years was continued.

Special magnitudes of that year´s festival are positive media titles which strengthened the faith and intercession of project leaders and the environment which wanted to show its organizational skills and possibilities. This went on in the following years until today.

Over 200 stars from the show business participated in the nights of the festival of which the following are worth mentioning: Alen Islamovic, Nina Badric, Donna Ares, Miko, Toni Cetinski, Suzana, Nermin Puskar, Jelena Radan, Mladen Burnac, Mia Martina, Marijana Novina, Lily, Zdravko Škender, Alka Vuica, Amir Kazic - Leo, Dragana and Geronimo, Sabina. Many bands also participated: Zabranjeno Pusenje, Plavi Orkestar, Seven up and Deen, Senna M, Punkt, IF, Boje Noci, Magbeth, Okus meda, Linija Zivota Jutro, Alarm, Knock Out , Tosa Proeski , Beat Street , Foxy teens , Biljana Mitrovic , Lea Mijatovic , Martin Vučic , Gulijano , Zak Houdek , Minea , Rezonansa , Boris Rezak and many others. Performers and authors from Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina etc.

When we talk about the so called "cover up" side, each year the festival is followed by over 5000 visitors, more than 150 journalists and via FTV and RTV RS broadcasting by 3 to 5 millions spectators in BH and neighbor countries on the terrestrial network. For two years during which the festival was broadcasted by TV OBN, it was also emitted on the satellite network. More than 50 (fifty) media partners from the whole region is present at the festival and locally they make many reports and statements taken from the performers. After direct broadcast the festival is broadcasted again by 11 regional and cantonal radio and TV stations.
Every festival is recorded on some kind of sound recording medium which can be found on the shelves of all bigger electronic media houses in BH, EX YU and all over the world where people who origin from these countries work. Most winner songs are played for a long time by radio stations.
At the end of this short story about the festival we do not want to tell you things about us that are already familiar but offer you cooperation on the project Festival Bihac 2006.
